Great Plains Communications Cable Television and Duhamel Broadcasting Enterprises are in the midst of a cooperative effort to improve the KDUH TV signal on Great Plains Communications channel 5.
The work, expected to be done this summer, will result in a clearer picture being sent into area homes.
KDUH TV, the ABC affiliate in the Nebraska panhandle, is available to Great Plains Communications cable television customers in Chadron, Hay Springs, Rushville and Gordon.
Duhamel broadcasting enterprises president, William F. Duhamel, says “we are extremely pleased that this agreement will bring KDUH’s full schedule of ABC programming and local news coverage with the best possible clarity.”
The northern Panhandle was without KDUH's service for over a year after their 2,000 feet tall tower southwest of Hemingford collapsed in September, 2002. The station's new tower, located east of Angora, is shorter and getting the signal to the northern Panhandle has proven to be challenging.
