The on-line entry deadline for the 25th annual Cornhusker State Games later this month has been extended again, this time till Monday. The website is www.cornhuskerstategames.com.
The original registration deadline was this past Monday, but Executive Director Dave Mlnarik announced earlier this week that the Games staff would still be able to process on-line entries received by today.
Mlnarik is still predicting about 13,000 people will take part in the 67 sports, although he won't have final figures until after the Games are over.
He also has a goal of at least one participant from each of the state's 93 counties for the first time ever, but there are still 11 without entries...including Sioux, Grant and Cherry.
Mlnarik says as an incentive, partners will cover entry fees and lodging for for the first participant from each of those counties. The others besides Sioux and Cherry are Arthur, Blaine, Boyd, Hooker, Keya Paha, Loup, McPherson, and Wheeler.
Opening ceremonies for this year's Silver Anniversary Cornhusker State Games will be on the Friday the 17th in Lincoln.
