LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska's coaching staff has started to see improvement in the team's defense. The Cornhuskers started their second week of spring drills yesterday, practicing in full pads in the Hawks Championship Center.

Head coach Bo Pelini said after the practice that the defensive players are showing just as much effort as those on the burgeoning offense.

The practice was the Huskers' fourth of 15 springs practices in preparation for the annual Red-White Game on April 19th.

The athletic department said yesterday that it has already sold 50,000 tickets for the game. The largest crowd for a Nebraska spring game was 63,416 in 2005.
