Nebraska's archery hunting season for antelope opened today. The season runs through the end of the year, but will close for 10 days in November for the state's firearm deer season.

Archers are also banned from hunting in firearm antelope areas during that season...which runs October 9--24. Archers in Nebraska killed a record 156 antelope last year.

There are an unlimited number of statewide archery permits available, but only 1 per hunter. They may be purchased online at OutdoorNebraska.org or at Game and Parks permitting offices around the state.
