Voting with your party's leadership more than 90% of the time apparently isn't good enough for some Nebraska Republicans as all three of the state's GOP Congressmen face challenges in the May primary election.

3rd District Representative Adrian Smith has a single opponent in the primary, Dennis Parker of Columbus, with Rebekah Davis of Alliance the lone Democrat.

In eastern Nebraska, 1st District Congressman Jeff Fortenberry of Lincoln and the 2nd District's Lee Terry of Omaha both have two opponents in the GOP primary.

Signing up to challenge Fortenberry are Ralph Bodie of Liberty and David Hunt of Blair, with 4 Democrats lining up on the other side...Ivy Harper, Sherman Yates, Jessica Lynn Turek and Stanley Krauter.

Challenging Terry in the primary are Steven Laird and Matt Sakalosky, with State Senator Tom White unopposed in the Democratic primary.

Even incumbent governor Dave Heineman has a GOP primary challenge from Paul Anderson of Omaha. Mark Lakers of Omaha is the only Democrat in the race.

There will be a contested race for State Treasurer in November with the filing of Democrat Mark Stoj of Omaha.

He'll face the winner of the GOP primary pitting former Attorney General Don Stenberg, State Senator Tony Fulton and former State Patrol commanderTom Nesbitt

Incumbent Republican Secretary of State John Gale and Democratic challenger Janet Stewart will both advance to November with the withdrawal of Democrat Kris Pierce to apply for a vacancy on the Omaha City Council.

Republican Jon Bruning is unopposed in either party for a third term as Attorney General. He was also unopposed 4 years ago.
