The Associated Press and the Secretary of State's web site disagree over who 49th District State Senator LeRoy Louden will face in November.

Louden took 72% of the vote to easily advance to the November ballot, but the AP gives the #2 spot to Scott Bolinger of Alliance by 9 votes while the Secretary of State has Michael Jacobsen of Gordon taking it by 6 votes.

The Associated Press said shortly before midnight that since its reporting system had Bolinger ahead 576 to 567 with all ballots counted, it would stay with those totals until the morning when they could be rechecked.

The Secretary of State's website is also listed as 100% of all ballots, but has 124 more votes than the AP count with Jacobsen on top 591-585. Louden's total by the Secretary of State is 91 votes higher than the AP count, 2,989 to 2,898.

Which ever total is correct still means an automatic recount between Jacobsen and Bolinger since either a 6 or 9 vote margin out of more than 4,000 cast is well within the one-half of 1% that triggers an automatic recount after the official canvass of the election.
