A 21-year-old Lexington man fishing in a canal south of Brady drowned Saturday morning when he lost his footing and fell in.
The Lincoln County Dive Team recovered the body of Edgar Matia-Martin about 3 hours later.
The Lincoln County Sheriff's office says Matia-Martin and his family were fishing at the Double Check when he stepped over the guard rail and onto the cement to fight a fish.
Family members told officers the cement was slick and Edgar...who could not swim...lost his footing and fell into the canal.
