Chadron State College junior Kaitlin Petri has been name to the 2010 Daktronics Women’s Basketball all-Central Region 1st-Team.

The 5-10 Petri, who transferred to CSC this year from Nebraska-Kearney led the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in scoring, assists, and assist-to-scoring ratio while ranking 5th in rebounding and in the top 10 in nearly all statistical categories.

The NCAA Division-2 Central Region is made up of just 2 leagues...the RMAC and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

Nine schools were represented on the 1st and 2nd Daktronics regional teams, with Fort Lewis the only one with 2...RMAC Player of the Year Allison Rosel and Defensive Player of the Year Katie Mackey.

The RMAC claimed 3 of the 5 selections on both the Datronics 1st and 2nd teams, but the Regional Player of the Year was from the Northern Sun...Minnesota-Duluth forward Jheri Booker.

Booker, a transfer from D-1 Tennessee State averaged 20.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game and was named the Northern Sun offensive and defensive player of the year.

For the men, Mike Dominguez of Mesa State is the Daktronics All-Central Region Player of the Year. The 6-3 senior guard was also the RMAC Player of the Year after averaging 21 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists a game on 53.5% including 47.2% from 3-point range.

Minnesota State-Mankato...the top seed in the region and host of the NCAA regional tournament this week...is the only school with 2 players selected, one on each of the 2 men's teams.

The Daktronics All-Central Region team was voted upon by sports information directors throughout the Central Region.

Each of the 5 men's and women's first-team all-region selections will now be listed on the Daktronics Division II All-American ballot, with the announcement of those All-American teams expected Tuesday, March 23.
