COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Chadron State College’s Ally Malzahn has been
named to the 2007-08 All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s
Golf Team, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Malzahn, a junior from Sidney, Neb., paced the Eagles at nearly
every meet this season. She won two tournaments – the Mesa State
Invitational and the Hardrocker Invitational hosted by South Dakota
School of Mines – and carded a 74 during the Regis Invitational in the
fall to set a new school-record. In tournaments, Malzahn averaged a
combined round of 165.0
Joining Malzahn on the first team is Western New Mexico’s Tina Bickford, who was named the Women’s Golfer of the Year.
Others on the first team include Western New Mexico’s Erika Willis,
Fort Hays State’s Shelby White, Nebraska-Kearney’s Kami Hehn, Mesa
State’s Maggie Cole, and Regis’ Cecilia Silfverskio.
Western New Mexico’s Carissa Schwalm is the freshman of the year.
For the first time in conference history, the all-conference golf team
was selected by using a report generated from Golfstat. The Golfstat
report includes national ratings of individual players, head-to-head
competition throughout the season, and the average score throughout the
season.
