Two Chadron teenagers have been arrested for a weekend graffiti spree and police say additional arrests are possible.

18-year old Trenton Rattler was cited for graffiti at the city dams while Travis Rattler...also 18...received a similar citation but was taken into custody on outstanding warrants from Denver for failing to appear on charges of attempted robbery and aggravated possession of a real or simulated weapon.

Chadron police Sgt Mike Loutzenhiser says dispatchers began receiving multiple calls Sunday morning about graffiti along Highway 385 from just south of the Ridgeview Golf Course...about 2 miles south of Chadron...to the highway's intersection with 6th Street at Eagle Chevrolet.

Loutzenhiser says most of the initial graffiti was spray painted on buildings and billboard, more was found later at the dams and the surrounding area. Officers contacted Trenton Rattler at his home in the Chadron Creek Trailer Park...just south of the dams...and found similar graffiti there.

Travis Rattler was also at the trailer, and he was arrested when a records check revealed the Colorado warrants. The investigation led to a search of the mobile home where officers recovered 13 cans of spray paint, 15 nozzles from other cans of spray paint, and clothing.

The Chadron Police Department, Dawes County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol and the Dawes County Attorney’s Office all participated in the investigation.
