A Sidney man died yesterday (Wednesday) after a trench collapsed on him at his residence. Cheyenne County Attorney Paul Shaub says 54-year-old Larry Glassburn's heart stopped Wednesday in an ambulance at the scene.
He was taken to Memorial Health Center in Sidney, but rescue personnel were unable to revive him, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Shaub says Glassburn was digging a 5-foot deep trench with 2 other men when one side gave way and he was trapped under the dirt. The other men dug Glassburn out and called for help.
