Dawes County Roads Superintendent Harvey Keim says trucks are once again being allowed on Squaw Mound Road east of Marsland.
The road was closed to trucks and the nearby East River Road closed to all traffic as the result of heavy rain Thursday night.
Keim says East River Road between Hollibaugh Road and Squaw Mound Road will remain closed for the weekend.
To detour around the East River Road closure, take Squaw Mound Road to No Name Road, then No Name Road to Hollibaugh Road.
Keim says nearly all the county roads in the southern part of Dawes
County suffered some level of damage in the heavy rain, so drivers need
to use extreme caution even on roads that remain open.
Keim doesn't know when East River Road will reopen, or when damage to
other roads will be fixed because of the extremely wet conditions.
