A former Cheyenne County prosecutor convicted in 2005 for having sex with a 13-year-old girl has been released from prison.
Prison records say 62-year old Gregory Lauby was freed last Saturday after serving the minimum of his 5-to-10 year sentence. Lauby will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Lauby began working for the Cheyenne County Attorney's office in April 2003, but was fired soon after charges were filed against him, and he was disbarred by the Nebraska Supreme Court in September 2005.
