DAWES CO SHERIFF WARNS OF POSSIBLE SCAM

Dawes County Sheriff Karl Dailey is warning residents about an apparent construction scam from a company that he believes has left the area.
Dailey says the company used several names while in Dawes County, but operated primarily as Jeffrey Asphalt Construction with a man identifying himself as Elmer Harrison of Oklahoma as the boss.
The sheriff got involved when several rural residents complained to his office about less than satisfactory work and overly-high prices by the company, and Dailey was able to convince the firm to return payments.
While he thinks the company did leave the area at his "suggestion," Dailey says any residents who feel they were cheated by Jeffrey Asphalt Construction or Elmer Harrison to contact his office.
