Nebraska ag producers have until next Monday to apply for coverage through NAP...the Non-Insurable Crop Assistance Program.
NAP insurance coverage is available for a number of forage crops used for hay or grazing, but Farm Service Agency Dawes County executive director Jeff Peterson says a number of other crops or programs could be affected if a grower doesn't have NAP coverage.
Peterson says with the filing deadline less than a week away, producers who would benefit from NAP coverage should contact their local FSA office as soon as possible.
The NAP service fee is $250 per crop with a maximum of $750 per producer per county or $1,875 per producer with farming interests in multiple counties.
