BRIDGEPORT – The City of Bridgeport has announced that this Saturday's (March 29th) scheduled brownout has been postponed to a later date.
Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) was scheduled to perform routine maintenance Saturday morning beginning at 7 a.m.
“WAPA informed us today that the routine maintenance which had been scheduled for the city's electrical system will not occur on Saturday,” Bill Boyer, City Administrator, said.
Boyer said WAPA and the City of Bridgeport will work closely to reschedule the maintenance, which will still affect the amount of electrical load the City will be able to support, commonly known as a “brownout.” A brownout occurs when the voltage level is below the normal minimum level specified for the system.
