  Grace N. Heinz, 76, of Hemingford died Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Hospice House in Rapid City, SD.

She was born at Hemingford on October 12, 1931 to Arthur Raymond and Mary Alice (Doak) Glass.

On October 20, 1957 she was united in marriage to Louis A. Heinz at the United Methodist Church in Hemingford.

Grace was a lifelong resident of Hemingford and enjoyed being an active member of the community through her involvement in many organizations. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Women’s Guild, Sunday School Superintendent and teacher; Hemingford Chamber of Commerce, 1974 Woman of the Year; Bicentennial Committee; Hemingford Centennial Committee, Hemingford Cemetery Board; Bluebird and Campfire Leader; HHS Music Parents, Box Butte County Fair Youth Division Superintendent; Northwest Nebraska Genealogy Society; Rebekah’s Lodge; RSVP;

HVFD Auxiliary; rural school teacher and was an Avon Representative for many years.

Her survivors are her daughters Colleen Heinz of Fort Morgan, CO and Michele Heinz of Rapid City, SD; her sisters Alice Serres of Chadron and Vera Jean and her husband Jerry Larsen of Rapid City, SD; her brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws, Jeannie Glass of Hemingford; Henry and Mary Heinz of Hemingford; Leo and Margie Heinz of Gresham, NE; Betty Speer of Crestone, CO and Martha Betker of Lincoln; She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, brother Bert Glass, infant sister Frances, brothers-in-law Ernest Serres and Rick Speer.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Hemingford. Pastor Jeri Soens will officiate. Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Hemingford.

Memorials to Hospice House in Rapid City or to Festival of Hope at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff may be sent in care of Colleen Heinz. 823 E 8th Avenue, Apt 1, Fort Morgan, CO 80701.
