Shortly after midnigth, on Saturday August 29, 2010, the Chadron Police Department was called to a local bar to investigate a possible MIP violation.
Sergeant Jarvis Wallage contacted a female subject who he observed inside a downtown bar, drinking an alcoholic beverage. Sergeant Wallage, believing that the female subject was possibly under age, contacted the female and requested her to provide identification, which she subsequently furnished law enforcement with a Colorado identification card, listing her name as Telena L. Kerst 23 years of age.
Sergeant Wallage gathered details from the female during his initial contact and having no further information to support that she was not who she claimed to be, released her. In the course of the subsequent investigation, Sergeant Wallage corresponded with the Colorado Department of Transportation to acquire the suspected female's digital driver's license image and other documents to positively identify who he had contact with on August 29th. Sergeant Wallage identified the female as Marcy L. Henderson (age 20) of Deer Trail Colorado.
Henderson was later located in Chadron and issued a citation for:
1. Minor in Possession of alcohol (Class III Misdemeanor)
2. Minor Misrepresenting Age to obtain alcohol (Class IV Misdemeanor)
3. False Reporting (Class I Misdemeanor)
4. Criminal Impersonation (Class IV Felony)
Henderson is pending her first appearance in the Dawes County Court on October 27, 2010. The establishment owner was on the premises at the time and consulted with police to identify Henderson. There will be no criminal or regulatory charges filed against the establishment owner.
