The Chadron Public Schools is ready to accept new bids for renovations on the football field and running track.
At Monday night’s school board meeting, board member Keith Drinkwalter stated that drainage issues need to be addressed on the field, and the track needs to be resurfaced, and a new irrigation system should also be installed.
Drinkwalter said these steps would delay the project for another year.
Drinkwalter said the track will have a completely different surface than what currently exists. Engineers estimate the cost to be up to 500,000.
New bleachers on the east side of the field, where visiting team fans sit, are now being installed.
