Several people were transported to the Chadron Hospital Tuesday afternoon with non-life threatening injuries following a two-vehicle accident near Fort Robinson State Park.

The Nebraska State Patrol reports 18-year-old Rodney Motz of Whitney was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 20 one mile west of Fort Robinson in a 1990 Ford van pulling a trailer which was owned by Fort Robinson State Park. The van had 16 passengers and the trailer was loaded with inner tubes for tubing on the White River. Motz had slowed the van to make a left turn and was struck from behind by a car driven by 81-year-old Warren Broyles of Lusk, Wyoming. Boyles was attempting to pass the van when he collided with it. The van rolled following impact.

It is unknown if the van's passengers were retrained.

The van, trailer and car were all totaled in the accident that occurred around 2:30 p.m.
