The Chadron State College football team wraps up fall camp Saturday morning with a mock game at 11:00, followed around 11:40 by a scrimmage for the service team...mainly freshmen who will be redshirting this year.

The mock game will unveil the Eagles’ new uniforms and helmets. The home look is the traditional CSC dark cardinal red jersey with white letters and cardinal pants. The away uniform has white pants and white jerseys with cardinal letters.

The look of the helmet is new. They will again be cardinal, but with a white stripe down the middle, numbers on both sides, and an American flag and a cow on the back.

Head coach Bill O’Boyle, who minored in art in college, says the cow is meant to honor the rich agricultural and ranch heritage of the area.

O'Boyle says the Eagles have and continue to have a lot of players who grew up on ranches, with many former players now ranchers or working on ranches...so the cow decal is a way for this year's team to show their support.

The six team captains for the coming season have been named. The offensive captains are junior offensive guard Tim Hiett (Arvada, Colo.) and senior quarterback Garrett Treffer (Scottsbluff).

The defensive captains are senior cornerback Jed Herblan (Arvada, Colo.) and senior defensive end Cory Beran (Sargent).

The special teams captain is senior punter Kevin Berg of Longmont, Colo.
