A Scottsbluff woman has been ordered to serve four to five years in prison for a rollover accident that sent an Alliance man to the hospital last year.

20-year-old Alicia Hayden was driving while intoxicated and traveling at a high rate of speed when her vehicle rolled, causing serious bodily injury to 19-year-old Mike Braga of Alliance.

A Nebraska State Patrol accident report states that during the early morning hours of March 10, 2007, Hayden was traveling southbound on Highway 87 nine miles north of Alliance, when she struck the rear end of another southbound car. Hayden's vehicle then entered the ditch and rolled three times.

Braga, who was a passenger in Hayden's vehicle, received a number of internal injuries and was hospitalized for 108 days at Regional West Medical Center and Box Butte General.

Hayden pleaded guilty to the felony charge in October. In exchange for her guilty plea, the state dropped four other charges.

Box Butte County District Court Judge Brian Silverman handed down the sentencing Wednesday morning. Hayden will be eligible for parole in two years.
