BOX BUTTE COUNTY 4-H ACHIEVEMENT NIGHT HELD

The annual 4-H Achievement Night and Annual Meeting of the Box Butte County 4-H Council was held Sunday, October 21 at the Fairgrounds in Hemingford. This program recognizes the achievement of 4-H members and volunteers.
The current 4-H Council was recognized and election of two new members to take the place of retiring council members was held. The election will close on November 5 and new council members will be announced after the November 20 council meeting.
Club members and volunteers were recognized. Volunteers that were present to receive recognition pins include: Patty Kulas (1 yr); Dusty Bryner (5 yr); Steph Mantooth, Sally Henderson & Doug Henderson (10 yr); Ron Henzler (15 yr) Lyle Fodness (45 yr)
Jr. Leaders selected the following special awards: Outstanding Supporter of 4-H went to the Box Butte County Fair Board. Members present to receive this recognition were Kay Specht, Ron Henzler and Fair Manager Phyllis Jesse.
Outstanding Friend of 4-H was presented to Carol Kleinsasser, Office Manager of the Box Butte County Extension Office.
Herdsmanship awards were received by Heath Lee (Beef Barn); Joshua Milne (Swine Barn); Emily Jensen (Sheep/Goat Barn).
Outstanding 4-H Leader was awarded to Dave Rischling for his leadership in the Guns R Us Shooting Club.
Home Economics Award which is sponsored by Ida Fodness was presented to Christian Bila.
"I Dare You Award" was presented to Kirsten Swanson
The 2007 Outstanding 4-Her award was presented to Sydney Swanson by her sister Kirsten Swanson, the 2006 Outstanding 4-Her.
