Welcome to the City of Alliance Activity Report.
The Water Department will be doing maintenance chlorination for the next seven to ten days as a result of routine water sample results showing positive presence of coliform bacteria. This is not an emergency and coliform bacteria are generally not harmful. Coliforms were found in more samples than are allowed and this was a warning of potential problems. E. Coli was not detected. Please call the Water Department at 762-1907 for additional information.
Plan to attend a special Brown Bag presentation by the Alliance Middle School Language Arts students on Friday, October 19th at noon at the Alliance Public Library.
We would like to encourage citizens to remove all summer recreational items such as campers, boats, jet skis, and portable grills from the street before inclement weather begins. Streets must be kept clear to enable street crews to plow snow effectively.
Street crews will begin the process of vacuuming storm drains and cleaning the gutters to prepare for winter snowfall. Please place your leaves in the containers provided for recyclable yard waste. Leaves should be placed in the dumpsters loose, not in plastic bags which hinders the composting process. Trees near the street should be trimmed to allow for 13 feet 8 inches of clearance to provide adequate space for snow plows to drive under them.
This concludes the Activity Report brought to you by the City of Alliance and KCOW. Please call the City at 762-5400 to share suggestions, comments or questions. Have a great weekend!
