Nuts & Bolts -- We will have Mass on Wednesday for the 3rd and 4th grades to begin at 9:00 in the parish chapel. The 3rd grade is doing the planning.
SAA Crusader Calendar update: Things are going well. Please remember that all SAA families have been asked to sell 10 calendars per family. If you are in need of more, please contact Janelle Rolls or Kate Horton. Here are some facts concerning the Crusader Calendar sales. The state of Nebraska allows non-profit organizations, such as SAA, to offer raffles and lotteries without the steep tax penalties if completed within a 3 month period, from beginning of selling until drawing time. This is the reason for drawing and announcing all winners on a single date. Thanks state of Nebraska for this great benefit.
Remember that you can purchase your “Boo Bags” through October 23rd. What a great way to wish your St. Agnes student or teacher a Happy Halloween!
Mrs. Doggett will not be serving hot lunch on Friday the 19th due to the preparation for the 2007 St. Agnes Chili Feed. However, the Inc. Spot will be serving pizza. The cost of Friday’s meal will be $2.00 and seconds will be $1.00 extra. Students will need to bring money if they choose to eat pizza. If not, they are welcome to bring a cold lunch. Please note that the microwave will not be available on Friday. Also, no milk will be sold on Friday.
Just a reminder that the Safe Environment Initial Training will be held next Monday, October 22nd, beginning at 7:00pm in the parish library. This training is for volunteer parents who have not yet attended any previous training sessions.
The Parent’s Inc. Board members will meet tonight at 7:00pm in the parish board room.
Girl’s Basketball practice begins next Monday, October 22nd, at 3:30. Just a reminder that all St. Agnes athletes must have a sports checkup prior to participating in practices and games. Please call the office with any questions you might have.
Remember to keep selling your chili feed tickets, Christmas wreaths and calendars!
Noteworthy -- A big thank you to Parent’s Inc. for helping to purchase the computers in the computer lab. We very much appreciate your ongoing support!
The 8th grade class will be traveling to Denver on Thursday of this week to participate in their class field trip. Mr. Glesinger has arranged for the students to tour the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and view a movie in the IMAX Theatre. A big thank you to Mr. Glesinger and the drivers for providing these students with such a wonderful day!
It’s Chili Feed time! We invite everyone from the Alliance community as well as the visiting fans from Scottsbluff to join us this Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. We will have piping hot chili, fresh bread, vegetables and dessert. Raffle tables will be set up and the 7th grade class will have their Kid’s Booth set up on the stage with items for young people to view and purchase. It promises to be a super community event. See you there!
Please remember that homework is an important part of the learning equation. When students are trained to think of homework as part of their normal day, good things begin to happen. Various educational specialists believe it takes as many as 15 to 20 experiences with a new concept to make it a permanent part of a child’s knowledge base. We simply do not have enough time during the school day to practice that many times. Therefore, homework becomes the child’s opportunity to exercise what he/she has learned. Show your support for your child’s education, require a study time each evening. You will see the difference.

God Bless!
