MISS CHADRON CONTEST HAS TO SPOTLIGHT 13 YOUNG LADIES

CHADRON – 13 teens from across the state will compete for the titles of Miss Chadron and Miss Northwest Outstanding Teen 2008.
The pageant will be held at Chadron High School auditorium on Sunday, October 21, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the door and are $5 for adults and students, $3 for senior citizens and 5 and under are free.
The 13 contestants competing for the titles of Miss Chadron and Miss Northwest Outstanding Teen are: Andrea Franklin the 17 year-old daughter of Clyde and Barb Franklin of Chadron, Nicki Windham the 15 year-old daughter of Thurman and Tanya Windham of North Platte, Meghan Thalken the 13 year-old daughter of David and Bette Thalken of North Platte, Nicole Tlustos the 16 year-old daughter of Les and Peggy Tlustos of Hay Springs, Rebecca Martin the 13 year-old daughter of James and Linda Martin of Crawford, Chelsea Volz the 16 year-old daughter of Pete and Michele Volz of North Platte, Jessica Flippin the 16 year-old daughter of Todd and Kathy Flippin of Morrill, Kiya Stack the 15 year-old daughter of Rob and Jill Stack of Chadron, Teresa Scanlan the 14 year-old daughter of Mark and Janie Scanlan of Gering, Jessamyn Strauch the 13 year-old daughter of Jarrod and Joleen Wetherington of Mitchell, SaDee Olson the 13 year-old daughter of Blendon and DeLisa Olson of Crawford, Holly Huston the 16 year-old daughter of Greg and Sherrie Huston of Mitchell and Sara Smith the 15 year-old daughter of Jeff and Deb Smith of Chadron.
Along with several other prizes and scholarships, the winners of the Miss Chadron and Miss Northwest Outstanding Teen titles will receive paid entry to the Miss Nebraska Outstanding Teen pageant held in North Platte in June. The winner of the Miss Nebraska Outstanding Teen title will advance to the Miss America Outstanding Teen pageant.
Co-emcees of the Miss Chadron/Northwest Outstanding Teen pageant are CSC student Jon Marquez and reigning Miss Nebraska Outstanding Teen Kayla Batt, both of Alliance.
The contestants will be judged in five areas of competition: private interview, 35%, on-stage question, 5%, lifestyle and fitness in sportswear, 10%, talent, 35%, eveningwear, 15%.
Several fund raisers will also take place before and after the pageant including a silent auction and t-shirt, tiara and pin sales.
