Zigmond Kosmicki, 75, died Friday, September 14, 2007 at Sturgis, South Dakota.

The oldest of ten children, he was born September 14, 1932 in rural Loup City, NE to Frank and Cash (Grudzincki) Kosmicki. He attended school in Loup City before his family moved to Alliance in 1943. He then attended rural Alliance schools and St. Agnes Academy.

He served in the Korean War and was disabled in the conflict. He has lived in veterans homes in Rapid City and assisted living in Whitewood, SD.

His survivors are his brothers, Jerome Kosmicki of Grand Island; Don Kosmicki of Overland Park, KS; Father Ray Kosmicki of St. Paul, NE; Mike Kosmicki of Alliance; Anthony Kosmicki of Red Feather, CO; David Kosmicki of Greeley, CO; sisters Alice Dirks of Greeley, CO; and Bernice Smith of Grand Island, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by war veterans in Korea, his parents, and sister Blanche Galusha.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Ray Kosmicki and Father James Heithoff officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A wake service will be Monday, Sept. 17 at 7:00 p.m. at the church.
