Keep Alliance Beautiful announces the 2008 Rubber Mulch Program. In 2007 the pilot program was tested in a designated neighborhood in Alliance. Due to the success of the pilot program, Keep Alliance Beautiful is opening the program to all Box Butte County residents.
In partnership with Keep Alliance Beautiful, local residents can purchase recycled tire rubber mulch at a rate 50% off retail prices. Average purchase price through this program is estimated at $6-7 per 25 lb. bag.
To participate in the 2008 Rubber Mulch purchase program contact Keep Alliance Beautiful at 762-1729 or stop by the office in Suite #8 of the Central School office building. The sign-up deadline ends November 30, 2007.
Decorative rubber mulch is an economical alternative to traditional wood mulch. Recycled tire rubber mulch costs less over time for labor and material. RMD rubber mulch does not deteriorate and lasts for a longer period of time than wood mulch.
Recycled tire rubber mulch has many benefits:
· Does not compress or flatten
· Controls weed growth
· Will not attract nesting insects
· Stays in place
· Safe (non-toxic)
· Several colors available
· Environmentally responsible
· Odor free
· Fire resistant
