Chadron State senior running back Danny Woodhead is included on a list of Heisman Trophy hopefuls by the experts at www.CSTV.com.

Woodhead, who became the NCAA’s all-time leading rusher last Saturday at Western New Mexico, is one of nine players on the list. The others are Darren maMcFadden of Arkansas, Tim Tebow of Florida, Matt Ryan of Boston College, Mike Hart of Michigan, Andre Woodson of Kentucky, Glenn Dorsey of LSU, and Chase Daniel of Missouri.

Woodhead is the only Division II player on the list.

Last year, Woodhead ran for 2,756 yards and scored 38 total touchdowns to win the Harlon Hill Trophy, which is annually given to the top Division II player in the nation. He’s considered a strong candidate to repeat this year.

Through six games this season, Woodhead has rushed for 1,076 yards and found the end zone 15 times. He's also caught 17 passes for 317 yards to lead the team in both categories.
