  Kevin M. Dahlstedt, 48, died Saturday, September 22, 2007 at his home in Alliance.

Kevin was born February 12, 1959 at Grand Island, Nebraska to Que and Mary Ann (Tvrdik) Dahlstedt.

He married Kevin Leigh Hessler on September 25, 1981 at Scottsbluff.

Kevin grew up in Scottsbluff and later moved to Fort Worth, Texas where he worked as a Dispatcher for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. He then moved to Alliance and worked as a Trainmaster before then working as a Conductor.

He was a four year member of the Alliance City Council where he also served as Vice-Mayor, and was also the Vice-Local Chairman of the United Transportation Union.

He is survived by his wife, Kevin L. Dahlstedt of Alliance; his daughter and son-in-law, Wren and Chad Wilcox of Alliance; his daughter, Mara Dahlstedt of Lincoln; and his son, Conrad Dahlstedt of Alliance. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Ann Dahlstedt of Santa Maria, California; his sisters, Faith Campbell of Littleton, Colorado, Susan Dahlstedt of Phoenix, Arizona, and Amy Oronoz of Florida; his aunt, Carole McCall of Ardmore, Oklahoma, and his great aunt, Alice Hullinsky of Gering. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the Alliance Berean Church. Pastor Dave Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the Kevin M. Dahlstedt Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of the First National Bank, P.O. Box E, Alliance, Nebraska, 69301.

Bates-Gould Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
