This Friday and Saturday night will be the first annual Bull Riding Challenge hosted by the Cattle Capital Rodeo Club in Alliance. This will be an exciting event that pits the bull rider against the bull.
For people that like to usually watch these events on television, this will be a perfect opportunity to personally see the roughest go round known to rodeo. The idea of having a long, lean cowboy that averages 160 pounds try to ride an animal that can weigh as much as a ton is awesome. Most of the time smaller bulls are more desirable because they can move about and really give the cowboy a ride for his entry money.
The arena for this event will be smaller and the grandstands will be closer than in a regular rodeo. This means the crowd will get an up close picture of the action.
The bull riding will start at 7:00 pm both nights at the Alliance Rodeo Grounds located at the Alliance Municipal Airport. Prior to that there will be entertainment and a Calcutta to make the action even more exciting for the crowd.
If you are a regular fan or a first timer to the sport of bull riding, you won’t want to miss this weekend because it is shaping up to be a tremendous showstopper. Get your advance tickets at the following places: The Mercantile, Art & Jerry’s Boot Shop, Integrative Physical Therapy, Bar 3 Feeds and the Alliance Chamber.
Last but not least, the Cattle Capital Rodeo Club is also hosting a Junior Rodeo on Sunday morning (September 23rd) at 8:00 am at the Alliance Rodeo Arena. Entrants will range in age from 3 years old to age 14. This will include your regular rodeo events and will really be fun.
