  Former Alliance resident Marlene Garett, 73, died Thursday, September 13 in Hastings, NE.

She was born September 16, 1933 in Alliance to Elmer James and Annie Irene (Reinders) Kerns.

She married David Lee Garett on October 18, 1950 in Alliance.

Marlene is survived by six children and their spouses. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, three brothers, one sister and a very close friend.

Marlene was preceded in death by her husband David, her parents, one brother-in-law and a sister-in-law.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 17 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel with Brother Troy Allen will officiate. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 1-6 p.m. and Monday 9-1:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to Bates- Gould Funeral Home, P.O. Box 574, Alliance, NE 69301.
