NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) - One of the two teenagers accused of killing a North Platte mother and her five-year-old daughter was in court this week.
Eighteen-year-old Michael Grandon has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the beating and stabbing deaths of 38-year-old Lori Solie and her five-year-old daughter, Tiara.
His case was bound over to Lincoln County District Court on Tuesday after he waived his right to a preliminary trial. He and 15-year-old Alicia Ochoa are charged in the deaths.
Ochoa is Solie's daughter and the half-sister of Tiara. She is trying to have her case moved to juvenile court.
