***The following story appeared in the Thursday, April 5 edition of the Hemingford Ledger newspaper.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Box Butte County Fair announced that, for the second year in a row, it has billed two acts for its main event Saturday, August 11 at 8 p.m. Restless Heart is billed as the top act, with Country newcomer Sarah Buxton the opening for what looks to be a great evening of entertainment for area residents.
The concert is part of the all-event ticket book. Cost is $25 reserved and $23 general seating for all five shows: Extreme Enduro Aug. 5; Queen Contest Aug. 9; Sanctioned Tractor & Truck Pull Aug. 10; Restless Heart and Sarah Buxton Concert Aug. 11; and the Demolition Derby Sunday, Aug. 12.
Tickets will go on sale June 1. To reserve tickets, please call 308-487-5223 during fair office hours Monday through Friday, or write Fair Entertainment, PO Box 608, Hemingford, NE 69348; or drop by the Fair Office at the Fairgrounds in Hemingford or Bank of the West in Alliance to reserve your tickets.
Restless Heart was one of RCA’s greatest band success stories of the late 1980’s and early 90’s. Their hits included “I’ll Still Be Loving You,” Tender Lie,” “Why Does It Have to Be (Wrong or Right), “When She Cries,” Bluest Eyes in Texas,” and “Dancy’s Dream.”
During a ten year history, Restless Heart scored three gold-selling albums which produced seven number one singles in a row; They received a dozen Grammy, CMA and ACM nominations and were named ACM’s Vocal Group of the Year in 1990.
Band members include Larry Stewart (lead vocals & acoustic guitar), Greg Jennings (guitars & vocals), John Dittrich (drums, percussion & lead vocals), Paul Greg (bass guitar & vocals) and Dave Innis (keyboards & vocals). They performed over 100 times at 95 locations in 2006.
Restless Heart’s website reports, “The group was off the road most of the last three months, taking time to produce the upcoming live album, plan for the 2007 tour, make several appearances on the Grand Ol’ Opry and, of course, spend time with their own families. “In the old days, we’d miss first steps, the Tooth Fairy and T-ball games,” Stewart commented. “Now we have to work our schedules so we’re home for high school graduations and moving into college!”
“It’s also great spending time with our Grand Ol’ Opry family,” Stewart said. “We’ve been able to make about two appearances a month over the break and we all love being on that stage.” (The group is on the Opry stage again March 13.)
The 2007 tour dates bring the band back to familiar stages and trying out some new ones. The highly successful “Triple Threat Tour” continues into 2007. Restless Heart joins Little Texas and Blackhawk on the T3 stages, bringing down the house at every show.”
Sarah Buxton is the opening act for the evening. Performing under Walt Disney’s Lyric Street Records label, she has several singles out, and is currently working on her first album, due out this year. Her singles include “That Kind of Day,” “Stupid Boy,” “Innocence,” and “Love Is A Trip.”
